Week 92 continued

Later that afternoon we toured a weaving business and were able to sit at a loom and weave a few strands into a table mat.

The workers are paid 20 pesos per meter. The average worker can make 3 meters per day. They make about $1.50 per day. We were blessed by their kindness to allow us to interrupt their work to show us tourists how to weave. I thanked our weaver and made the comment that she would probably have to go back and ‘redo’ what we had done and she would lose more time and money because of her kindness that she showed to us. She smiled and nodded her head. I have never seen such a kind and gracious people like these Filipinos.

It sounds like all we did this week was party, but we do find time for missionary work. We try to talk to as many people as we can as we travel and we love to smile and wave to people. They think it is funny to have these white people wave to them but then they smile and wave back. The little children are especially friendly and love to wave to us. We found out on Thursday that the Narra Branch Conference had been moved up to this Sunday so we said goodbye to the Senior Couples and were off early Sunday morning to attend our Branch Conference back in Narra. We have become a part of the Branch here. It is delightful.

Well, we are doing good. We are healthy and happy. I do see ice cream and a recliner in my near future.  Ahhhh! We are so blessed to be missionaries here and we love serving the Lord. We love the time we have to study the gospel. We have come to appreciate even more the scriptures and the wonderful truths of this gospel. It is true.

We hope that you are taking care of yourselves and enjoying the summer vacation time. We hope that all of you are healthy. We hope that you are anxiously engaged in a good work! We love you all and miss you very much. Please write when you have some time. The internet is still giving us fits. Remember to BE good, DO good and BE men and women of Christ. And always remember to say your prayers.
Love,
Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, Janene and Grant
